MEET OUR DIETITIANS

It is of the utmost importance to us to create an inclusive, safe space.

We acknowledge and understand our identifies hold many privileges that limit our understanding of the lived experiences of others. We do our best to affirm queerness, gender identity, neurodiversity, and the experiences of marginalized peoples. We are continuously learning how to be better allies, and will do our best to recognize when to refer you to resources created by others with similar experiences.

Our APPROACH

Our approach to nutrition counselling is one that is weight neutral with a focus on health at every size. Each of us has different genetics, nutritional needs, and history with food. We’re here to help guide you to healthy outcomes unique to you.

UNIQUE FRAMEWORK

We will discuss what you CAN eat – rather than what you can’t. Together, we will work on creating new habits and thought processes. We’re here to help you with how to eat – not how to diet.

ALESSANDRA DIMATTIA

Registered Dietitian, Culinary Instructor

Hello, nice to meet you! I’m Alessandra and I’m a big fan of food and how working on your relationship with it can make you feel awesome! At the core of nutrition counselling is exploring your individual goals for wellbeing. There are no instant fixes or magic beans here (although chickpeas are pretty delicious)! My intention is to support you in your journey at a pace that fits your lifestyle.

Filling your toolbox with food & nutrition skills, strategies, and knowledge for your unique situation is exactly why I became a dietitian in 2014.  I’ve had the pleasure of leading cooking workshops and know first hand how life changing it can be to learn basic food skills. Cooking is my passion and one that I’m happy to share if you’re looking to build confidence in the kitchen. I’m here for you whether you want to transition to a plant-based lifestyle, learn about intuitive eating, gain food skills, or manage a chronic condition.

When I’m not meeting with you virtually, you’ll find me on a mountain bike, skiing down a mountain, or enjoying the lake on a paddleboard in my spare time.

KIRSTEN FORSBERG

Registered Dietitian

Hi, I’m Kirsten. I work with both adults and adolescents, particularly when mental and physical health challenges are part of the picture. Whether you’re facing a new diagnosis or have been navigating challenges with food for some time, I’m here to help.

I take a client-centred, educational, and individualized approach to nutrition care. That means our work is guided by your unique experiences, preferences, and goals—not rigid rules or one-size-fits-all advice. We’ll work together to better understand your nutritional needs in the context of your overall health and life circumstances.

My goal is to equip you with the tools, confidence, and clarity to make meaningful, sustainable changes. Our sessions go beyond just food—we’ll explore your history including medications and bloodwork, your current challenges, and the barriers that may be getting in the way. This includes unpacking beliefs and emotions tied to eating, and supporting a more compassionate, flexible relationship with food and your body.

I also welcome the involvement of family or support people to foster long-term success. Wherever you are on your health journey, I’ll meet you there—with curiosity, respect, and care. Together, we’ll find realistic goals that align with your values and support the life you want to live.

JOELLE DAVIDSON

Registered Dietitian, Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor

Hello! I’m Joelle – founder, owner, and dietitian at Intuition Dietitian Corp. My road to becoming a dietitian started when I was young. While playing competitive softball in college, I learned about the importance of nutrition for sport and academics. This, combined with my long-time desire to work in healthcare, lead me to pursue nutrition as a career. Registered dietitians are the most highly regarded nutrition professionals, so I went back to school to become a dietitian. I currently work for Interior Health and have experience in multiple areas including pediatrics, acute medical nutrition therapy, intensive care, eating disorders, and kidney health.

My goal in creating Intuition Dietitian Corp. is to build a team of dietitians providing evidence-based nutrition advice from a non-diet and weight-neutral approach. Instead of focusing on weight as a marker of health, we can tap into our inner intuition to help guide us on our unique journey to optimal overall health. I’m passionate about an all foods fit diet approach and the benefits that come from rejecting diets and eating intuitively. I strive to help each of my clients foster a healthy relationship with food.

TONI VANDENBRINK

Registered Dietitian

*Please note Toni is not currently accepting new clients*

Hey there, I’m Toni! My number one passion is helping individuals heal their relationship with food (and their bodies). I practice from a HAES (health at every size) approach and firmly believe that true well-being extends beyond appearance and numbers on a scale.

These days it’s easy for food to get complicated. Everyone seems to have an opinion on what you should and shouldn’t be eating, and it gets even more confusing if you throw a chronic disease, athletic goals, or even simple health goals in the mix. I am here to simplify nutrition for you so that it’s fun, not stressful!

I also love supporting individuals who are on their journey towards healing and recovery from disordered eating or eating disorders. I’m here to provide a safe and non-judgmental space, offering personalized guidance and empowering tools to help you establish a healthy relationship with food and your body. I will be in your corner, and am here for you every step of the way.

I look forward to meeting you!

What’s the difference between a dietitian and nutritionist?

Every dietitian is a nutritionist, but every nutritionist is not a dietitian. Because the terms “nutritionist” or “registered nutritionist” are not protected terms in British Columbia, anyone can call themselves a nutritionist no matter the training they have received.

A dietitian is a registered health professional that must complete a Bachelor’s of science degree, a 10 month internship with placements in hospitals, long term care homes and community health centres, and be registered with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC. As a member of the college, a Registered Dietitian must practice according to set standards and laws that protect the public, just like you would expect from doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other health professions.

For more information on what Registered Dietitians do, visit the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC, Dietitians of Canada at www.dietitians.ca or send a message via the contact page.
