Looking for a quick snack that you can prepare in batches at the start of the week? Look no further because I’ve prepared these delicious no bake energy bites that take a maximum of 20 minutes to make. They use pantry staples and don’t require the oven or more than one bowl...what more could you want? Add different foods to switch up the flavours or continue with your favourites to have this easy snack on hand. Let’s talk about the ingredients before we dive into the step by step recipe.

Base ingredients

Let’s start with the star of the show or the base of this recipe, the oats. High in fiber which aids in digestion and gut health, oats are an beneficial component of anyone’s diet. They also provide satiety, the sensation of feeling full. Nut butter is mixed with the oats to help everything stick together while also providing some healthy fats. Honey helps further bind the ingredients together while also providing some natural sweetness and quick energy. I added a scoop of protein powder to create a balanced snack with protein, carbohydrates and fat. However, feel free to leave this ingredient out if you would like! This healthy snack can help with chronic diseases by giving you lasting energy without sudden spikes in blood sugar and promoting heart health through the fiber-packed oats and good-for-you fats from nut butter.

Add-ins

Now onto the fun part, the extra add-ins. In this specific recipe I added chocolate chips, however coconut, raisins, or variations of nuts are also great options. Additionally, swap out some of the peanut butter for pumpkin with some added nuts and cinnamon to create a pumpkin pie energy ball! With endless variations add in whatever you like to personalize these energy bites to your desire!

Other Options

A few other options to keep in mind before I dive into the recipe instructions. If you want a creamier texture try blending the mixture then put in the fridge/freezer before scooping into portions. Don’t want them in small balls? Try spreading the mixture onto a sheet pan, place in the fridge, and cut out strips for energy bars!
