Preconception Nutrition

From fertility support to building nutritional reserves, we work together to make sure your body is ready to conceive and support a pregnancy. This includes optimizing your nutrition status, reviewing any supplement needs, and ensuring your diet supports your reproductive health.

Pregnancy Nutrition

Your nutrition needs change during pregnancy. We’ll make a plan to ensure you are meeting those needs, taking in to account food preferences or dietary restrictions like vegetarian or pescatarian diets. You’ll get guidance on supplements and tips for eating well to support your baby’s growth, ease symptoms, and feel your best in every trimester of pregnancy.

Postpartum nutrition

The fourth trimester  is a time of even higher nutritional needs. We work together to develop a postpartum nutrition plan. This includes ideas for batch food prep prior to baby’s arrival and tips for  eating well during the newborn stage. Whether you are breastfeeding or not, the nutrition plan will help meet your needs for recovery, milk supply, and your overall health.

Personalized Advice

There is No One Diet For Everyone

As a mom of two, I get it. I know there is so much noise about nutrition and eating well before, during, and after pregnancy. It’s hard to navigate all of the guidelines, advice, and recommendations alone.

I promise you this: you can feel confident in your food choices. Together, we will answer your questions, give you the latest information and research, and review your diet to ensure you are getting what you need for you and for baby.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer direct billing?

Yes, for some insurance companies. Not all insurance companies allow direct billing for dietitian services. Contact your provider prior to the session to find out if you’re eligible.

Can I use insurance to pay for the packages?

Please contact us prior to booking a package if you will be billing to extended health benefits.

Do you offer meal plans?

We do not provide specific meal by meal, day by day plans. Meal plans do not allow for you to choose foods based on your hunger, satisfaction, or pleasure needs at the time of eating. We will make recommendations for meals, snacks, and recipes based on your individual needs and goals, and help guide you in planning.

Do you offer in person or virtual sessions?

All of our dietitians are available via video chat or by phone. Toni Vandenbrink is available for in person sessions at our downtown Kelowna office.

do you provide weight loss counselling?

All of our dietitians practice from a weight-neutral stand point. We do not counsel specifically for weight loss. We work with our clients to move away from restriction and dieting which has been shown in research to predict weight gain. We help clients reconnect with their body and what foods feel good and can help promote good health.

What is your cancellation policy?

24 hours notice is requested for all cancellations as a courtesy to your dietitian and other clients. You will be provided with a written copy of the policy to sign at your first session.
